CT-155 Hawk jet to fly by Ottawa Race Weekend

By Mike Vlasveld

A Canadian Forces CT-155 Hawk jet will set a blistering pace for 10K pace bunnies and runners this weekend.

A few minutes before the gun goes off to signal the start of the 10K race, the plane will perform a fly-past.

It will fly over the starting chute on Colonel By Drive, from north to south at approximately 6:25 p.m., Saturday, May 25.

Residents in the area can expect a brief but loud noise at that time.

It had originally been reported that the Snowbirds would be performing the fly-by, but the Canadian Forces sent a correction late Thursday afternoon.
