Stormont County Fair celebrating 155 years this weekend

By CityNews Staff

The Stormont County Fair is returning with a full line-up of events this long weekend.

Jeff Waldroff, president of the Stormont Agricultural Society Board of Directors, told The Sam Laprade Show on Aug. 29 that activities include cattle shows, a tractor pull, whiskey on tap, a silent auction and a petting zoo.

The fair, which started in 1867 and is celebrating its 155th year, kicked off last night with its demolition derby.

“It's just a great weekend for everybody,” he said.

The fair takes place Sept. 2-5 in Newington, Ont.
