Three people charged after robbery at gunpoint incident on Thanksgiving

The Ottawa Police Service (OPS) Robbery unit has charged one man and two women in relation to an incident of a robbery at gun point at a convenience store in Ottawa's west end.
On Oct. 10 at roughly 6:45 p.m., a lone man entered a convenience store on Highgate Road and demanded, at gunpoint, that the store's employee put cigarettes and cash in a bag. The suspect fled on foot north on Highgate Road.
Frontline officers located the suspect during a traffic stop on Carling Avenue and Churchill Avenue, and two other women in the vehicle have also been charged.
The man was also charged with two other robberies that happen on Sept. 23 on Merivale Road and on Oct. 9 on Greenbank Road.
Jake John Levert, 33, of Ottawa was charged with:
- Robbery with a weapon (three counts)
- Point a firearm (three counts)
- Use of firearm to commit indictable offence (three counts)
- Possess a weapon for committing an offence (three counts)
- Fail to comply with a release order (three counts)
- Conspiracy to commit an indictable offence
- Disguise with intent
- Possess property obtained by crime not exceeding $5,000
Cheryl Anne White, 41 and Crystal Gail Nadon, 40, both of Ottawa are charged with:
- Robbery with a weapon
- Conspiracy to commit an indictable offence
- Possession of property obtained by crime
Levert appeared in court on Oct. 11 while White and Nadon were released on release orders with conditions.
