Touchdown! Ottawa company Ross Video scores Super Bowl LVI deal

One of Ottawa’s own is off to the Super Bowl.

Ross Video scored a touchdown of a deal when it was asked to provide the technology that will be used for the Infinity Screen, the screen that hovers over the centre of the field.

The screen, executive vice-president Jeff Moore explained on The Sam Laprade Show on Thursday, February 10, is made up of 80 million pixels and is one-of-a-kind in the world.

It will be Ross Video’s technology driving every single one of those pixels in Los Angeles, where Super Bowl LVI will be held, Moore said.

“We got a team on site that’s helping with the production — we got 18 people for the event,” he said. “We’ve been doing this the last five Super Bowls in a row where we’ve had teams on site helping with the production to do the big screen because it’s a special type of productions during the Super Bowl.”

Moore said there will also be a second smaller crew that will be working with NBC’s coverage of the event providing augmented reality graphics.

Today, Ross Video employs almost 1,200 employees and continues to hire more — a big leap from its humble beginnings in Ottawa.

“It’s truly amazing the technology that has gone into this and the kind of ambition that has gone on to build it,” Moore said. “I’m just going to sit back and eat it all up.”

Kickoff time for the 2022 Super Bowl is 6:30 p.m., Sunday, February 13.
