UPDATE: Service restored between Line 1 St-Laurent and Rideau stations.

By CityNews Ottawa

No trains were running between St-Laurent and Rideau stations as OC Transpo dealt with more technical problems on Line 1 of the light-rail system.

R1 bus service was implement between the two stations starting just before 5:30 p.m. Friday afternoon, Feb. 10, due to a parafil breaking, part of the beleaguered Overhead Catenary System that supplies the trains with power, according to a memo to city council from transit general manager Renée Amilcar.

Though R1 bus service ended around 6 p.m., trains in both directions at Hurdman, Lees and uOttawa stations are currently only running on the eastbound platform

Rideau Transit Maintenance (RTM) are repairing the parafil overnight, and all platforms are expected to be open by start of service Saturday, Feb. 11.
