Collision closes 401 westbound at Morrisburg

One person is being treated for serious, but not life-threatening injuries, after a crash on Highway 401 West near Morrisburg.

The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) says, shortly after 11:30 a.m, Wednesday, January 27, a tractor trailer was travelling westbound on Highway 401 when, for reasons under investigation, it hit a pedestrian who was outside his vehicle on the shoulder of the highway.

The driver of the tractor trailer was uninjured.

OPP continue to investigate with the assistance of OPP Traffic Collision Investigators (TCI).

A section of Highway 401 is closed to traffic with indicated detours in place at Westbound at Morrisburg.
