Items stolen from Centretown comic book shop possibly being sold on Facebook

By Mike Vlasveld

The owner of Myths, Legends and Heroes in Centretown is happy to have recovered an item stolen during a 'smash-and-grab' style break-in at his shop.

Rob Zedic says a friend of his pointed out an item being sold on Facebook marketplace, which looked like something taken from the store. He then notified police and officers were able to recover the item.

No arrests have been made as police continue to search for the person responsible for the Monday morning incident.

Zedic says, based on what was taken, the thief clearly didn't know too much about his merchandise.

“Top vinyls [stolen] were two-pack gift sets that maybe retailed for about $40 — something like that. The statues [taken] were a bit more expensive, probably in the $90-$100 range, depending on the piece kind of thing,” he explains. “But I really do think [the thief] just literally grabbed what was there on the shelf and tossed it into a bag.”

Zedic says there is video footage of the suspect and the police investigation is ongoing.
