Ottawa police looking for Baseline Road shoplifter who assaulted security guard

The suspect is described as a white woman with a heavy build, shoulder-length brown hair and was wearing grey and white camouflage.

The Ottawa Police Service (OPS) is asking for the public's help to identify a woman who stole a number of items from a business on Baseline Road.

Officers say a woman walked into a store near Merivale Road, around 4 p.m. on September 28. The suspect picked up several items and tried to hide them in her clothing. 

When leaving the store, police say the suspect assaulted a loss prevention officer who had tried to stop her before she fled the scene. 

The suspect is described as:

  • White
  • Heavy build
  • Shoulder-length brown hair
  • Wearing a grey and white camouflage pant with a matching hoody and tan boots
