Ottawa police officer charged with February sexual assault

Ontario’s police watchdog has charged an Ottawa police officer with sexual assault.

The SIU received a complaint earlier this year of a sexual assault that had allegedly happened on or about February 5.

After an investigation, Cst. Sundeep Singh was charged with one count of sexual assault and one count of breach of trust, it was announced Tuesday.

Singh is expected to appear in an Ottawa court on October 29.

As the matter is before the courts, SIU says it will not provide further comment on the investigation.
