Police investigate shooting on Rideau Street

A 59-year-old man was taken to hospital after he was shot on Rideau Street, Ottawa police said.
Police shut off Rideau Street from Colonel By Drive to Dalhousie Street as they investigated the shooting Sunday night. The Ottawa Police Service said people ran through the Rideau Centre to get away when they heard gun shots, but that the mall was closed.
Police said the victim's injuries were not life-threatening.
The OPS said there was no longer an active shooter situation where the public was in danger, and that the investigation was ongoing.
