Police in Québec are targeting drivers making unsafe lane changes southbound on Highway 5.

Police officers from the Sûreté du Québec staked out the highway, approaching Highway 50, on the afternoon of May 16. They targeted left lane drivers who waited until the last minute to move over to get on the eastbound 50 or Maisonneuve Boulevard.

Some drivers stopped in the middle of the highway when drivers in the right lane would not let them merge, which police say is incredibly dangerous and could lead to serious injuries or even a fatal collision.
