Substitute high school teacher accused of sex assault and possessing child porn

A 54-year-old substitute secondary school teacher in Gatineau is facing a list of sexual assault and child pornography-related charges after a police investigation.
Gatineau police say the investigation lasted for a number of weeks, and was in connection with various sexual offenses committed on a minor.
André Lessard was arrested Wednesday, July 17, and taken to the Gatineau police station for interrogation.
He appeared before the criminal court on July 18 on a number of charges, including:
- Sexual contact
- Sexual assault
- Incitement to sexual touching
- Child luring
- Exhibitionism
- Possession of child pornography
- Having made available child pornography
Lessard allegedly committed some of the offenses while at work at a local high school.
Police say the victim was known to Lessard.
The accused has been released under various conditions, including:
- Not to be in the presence or communicate with people under 16;
- Not to be near a school, park or any other place where people under the age of 16 might be;
- Prohibition of holding a job that would put him in a relationship of trust or authority with respect to persons under 16 years of age.
