UPDATE: Woman hospitalized with serious injuries after Carleton Place snowmobile crash

A collision between a snowmobile and a pedestrian in Carleton Place has put one woman in hospital. 

Around 3:45 p.m. on Monday, February 23, the Lanark County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), responded to the crash on the Ottawa Valley Recreational Trail (OVRT).

The Lanark County Paramedic Service took the pedestrian, a 49-year-old woman, to hospital with serious injuries. 

A section of the trail, between Franklin Street and Albert Street, was closed for several hours for the OPP investigation, but has since reopened. 

The investigation into the cause of the crash is ongoing.
