Drug charges laid after traffic stop in Pembroke

The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have laid a pair of drug-related charges after a traffic stop in Pembroke.

In the early morning hours of Thursday, May 6, officers from the Upper Ottawa Valley detachment of the OPP conducted a traffic stop on Renfrew Street in Pembroke.

The driver was found to have a suspended license and a number of drugs in the vehicle during the stop, around 1:30 a.m.

The OPP have charged 45-year-old Ian William Hopper, of the Laurentian Valley Township, with possession of methamphetamines, a schedule 1 substance, and driving while under suspension. 

The accused was released and handed a court date in June.
