Suspicious man seen speaking with youth at Kemptville skate park

Police in North Grenville are asking the public to keep an eye out after a recent report of a suspicious man at a Kemptville skate park.

The Grenville County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) says it received a complaint on Wednesday, May 12, that a suspicious man and vehicle had been hanging around a skate park on Reuben Crescent.

The complainant told police, a man, who claimed to 27-years-old and from Ottawa, spoke to several youth around 4 p.m. on Tuesday, May 11.

When the conversation was over, he allegedly told the youth he would be back at the park that evening.

The complainant also believes the man took pictures of the youth with his cellphone before leaving in a white vehicle.

The man is described as:

  • Asian
  • Unknown accent
  • Younger appearance (though stated he was 27-years-old)
  • Driving a white sedan, similar to a Toyota Corolla (unknown licence plate or age of vehicle)

Police say, to date, there have been no further complaints reported, and there is no immediate concern for public safety.
