Stolen van linked to Oakridge robbery is found

VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – A van linked to the brazen robbery at Oakridge Centre Thursday night has been found.  Officers were tipped off, and found it abandoned in southwest Vancouver overnight.

The stolen 1993 red Plymouth Grand Voyager has been turned over to Vancouver Police forensic investigators to be picked apart for any evidence.

Constable Lindsey Houghton says the hunt is still on for three other suspects, but officers are disgusted the 15-year-old who was accused of firing shots, was even involved.  “We’ll be looking into the background of the young man.  To have a 15-year-old involved in such a dramatic incident is very troubling for us.  Unfortunately, the criminal justice system is now going to kick into play for him.”

Houghton adds the teen is due in youth court Monday.  This was the second time that specific location of Montecristo Jewellers was ripped off in recent years.
