Pat Burns’ stolen suitcases found

Montreal police have recovered two suitcases stolen from Pat Burns’ widow, just hours after the former NHL coach’s funeral.

A citizen turned in two suitcases that were taken when thieves smashed into Burns’ car in an outdoor parking lot earlier this week.

Const. Yannick Paradis says the man found the suitcases not far from the crime scene, and brought them in to police.  Investigators have determined he was not involved in the robbery.

Thirty autographed hockey jerseys that were also stolen have still not been recovered.  The sweaters were supposed to have been auctioned off at a charity event, to raise money for an arena to be named after Burns.
