Sens lose Spezza ‘indefinitely’

The under-achieving Ottawa Senators are in the midst of a two-game winning streak, but they won’t have Jason Spezza around to help them make it three in a row.
The star centre will be out for at least six weeks — and possibly longer — with a shoulder injury following a hit in Sunday’s game against the Penguins.
Spezza watched replays of the hit from Pittsburgh’s Kris Letang and didn’t like what he saw, calling the hit a little bit dirty.
Letang got a two-minute boarding penalty on the play. But for some Sens fans across Ottawa, that wasn’t enough.
“It was just a really dirty hit and it was just terrible,” says Wanita, a self-described huge Sens fan.
She says if players get away with hits like that the rules need to be changed.
Others fans think people need to look at it realistically.
“Usually the guy who gets hit thinks it dirty, they guy doing the hitting doesn’t think it’s dirty,” says Leo. “I don’t think it’s that big of a loss to us, and personally I would like to see him gone.”
Surgery has not been ruled out, but doctors won’t know for sure until the swelling goes down.
