Funeral services held for Trevor Rankin

A number of Ottawa residents gathered in Charlottetown Monday to remember Trevor Rankin, a 38-year-old Ottawa man who drowned while visiting family on Prince Edward Island over the holidays.

Several of Rankin’s co-workers from the Natural Resources Canada office on Booth Street were planning to attend the funeral.

Rankin’s body was recovered from Charlottetown’s downtown harbour on December 29, five days after he went missing. He was last seen by a cab driver in the early morning hours of Christmas Eve.

An autopsy showed Rankin died by accidental drowning and alcohol was a contributing factor.
