Orleans residents charged with operating illegal day-care

Two daycare operators in Orleans have been charged with operating an illegal daycare. The two were present on the day two-year-old Jeremy Audette drowned in a backyard above-ground pool at a home on Rougemont Crescent.
Several day care operators had brought their children to that location the day the toddler died last July.
Although police ruled out criminal charges against anyone, the Ministry of Children and Youth Services conducted their own investigation and found that Wendy Andruszka-Lapierre and Cynthia McLellan were not operating daycare centres under provincial rules.
