Toronto bus driver caught driving and texting

A bus driver in Toronto was caught texting while driving.

He was photographed texting on his cell phone while apparently driving a busload of commuters and now faces possible discipline. The passenger who took the photo said he did so because he was both angry and fearful of what was happening.

Toronto Transit Commission spokesman Brad Ross said the driver has been identified and faces potential disciplinary action. He said that not only is texting while driving illegal, but it’s a safety issue and something the the commission takes ”very seriously.”

Texting while driving has been banned on Ontario roads since October 2009 and violators face fines of up to $500.
