The man who killed Ottawa tourist Terry Schwarzfeld in Barbados two years ago has had an extra five years tacked onto his jail sentence.
The 60-year-old Schwarzfeld was walking along the beach with her daughter-in-law in broad daylight on February 8, 2009 when Curtis Foster approached them and demanded money.
When they refused, he struck Schwarzfeld on the head with a plank of wood. She died later in hospital.
The 25-year-old Foster had been facing ten years behind bars for the attack but upon appeal was given an extra five years when the court ruled the original sentence was too lenient and did not reflect the serious and violent nature of the crime.
