Record-setting Warm Temperatures in Ottawa

February 18th was a record setting day in the Nation’s Capital. The city recorded a temperature of 8 degrees shattering a 30 year old record and eventually the mercury rose to 11 degrees.
The record-setting temperatures had Ottawa’s Glebe bustling with shoppers, skateboards and kids off on a Pro-d Day.
The cancellation of Winterlude events and many other winter activities due to weather had parents of school kids thinking out of the box in terms of keeping the kids occupied.
In Ottawa’s Glebe the to-do list appeared to top out with: shopping, cocoa and craft-making as well as hitting the neighbourhood libraries.
The NCC hopes to re-open Snowflake Kingdom at Jacques Cartier park and the Roger’s Crystal Garden at Confederation park for the final weekend of Winterlude.
Winter will strike again however with cooler, windy weather moving in for the long weekend.
