Man arrested in Ottawa charged with first-degree murder

OTTAWA, On — York Region police say a suspect in a fatal shooting of a Toronto man was arrested early today in Ottawa.

Police say 31-year-old Mohand Mohamed was arrested at a residence with the help of Ottawa police and charged with first-degree murder.

A Canada-wide warrant was issued for Mohamed late last month in the shooting death of a Toronto man (Arash Elijah Bakjtaryani) in Vaughan.

Police say they have also charged a Richmond Hill man (26-year-old Maryam Torabipour) with being an accessory after the fact to murder.
