A memorial service is planned Tuesday night for former Ottawa Citizen editor-in-chief Jim Travers.
It’s set for the Government Conference Centre on Rideau Street with former CBC host Don Newman as master of ceremonies.
Also expected to speak at the service are his sons Patrick and Ben, Liberal leader Michael Ignatieff, John Manley and several newspaper colleagues and friends.
Travers, 62, died last week after complications following surgery to remove his spleen.
He was the Toronto Star’s national columnist for 11 years after a long career as a foreign correspondent and newspaper manager.
