Honda Canada recalling some Civics for fuel pump issue

TORONTO, Ont. – Honda Canada is voluntarily recalling 3,636 model-year 2011 Honda Civics to inspect and possibly replace a fuel pump module in the gas tank.

Nine 2011 Acura CSX vehicles are also part of the recall.

Honda said internal testing shows the roll-over valve inside certain fuel pump modules may have been damaged during production.

If a vehicle is in a rollover crash, the cracked rollover valve may allow some fuel leakage from the gas tank.

No crashes or injuries have been reported related to this defect.

Owners of the affected vehicles will be asked to bring them to Honda dealers once notifications are sent out beginning in mid-April.
