Fire at rectory near Pembroke leaves 1 dead

PEMBROKE, Ont. – An overnight fire in a rectory southwest of Pembroke, Ont., has left one person dead.
The victim is believed to be the parish priest, but police say they will need an autopsy to confirm the identity.
Officers spotted the blaze in the rectory of St. Casimir’s Church in Round Lake Centre, Ont., around midnight Saturday.
Fire crews managed to keep the flames from spreading to the church.
The Ontario Fire Marshal is investigating.
