Bi-weekly garbage collection coming to Ottawa

On Wednesday the City of Ottawa is expected to announce a change in the garbage collection schedule.

The recommended change comes from a review of Ottawa’s Waste Collection Services and would see curbside waste collection reduced to once every two weeks. The move is to save money at City Hall.

Councillor Maria McRae, chair of the City of Ottawa’s Environment Committee, is scheduled to announce the change on Wednesday afternoon at City Hall.

The city’s current garbage collection contract is up for renewal in May 2012.
