Party leaders are making promises left, right and centre, but are they addressing your needs?
Some believe our politicians are missing many marks on this election campaign and neglecting a number of major issues.
Sometimes it’s not what they’re saying, it’s what they’re not saying.
Aside from the NDP, political scientist Doreen Barrie says no one is making a major push to talk about the state of our health care.
And it seems the issues of environment have disappeared from the radar.
“It doesn’t seem as though political parties really want to take the pulse of the nation during the election campaign,” said Barrie.
Steven Staples, with the Rideau Centre, adds if you take the fighter jet deal out of the mix no one is talking about our military.
“We have Canadians involved in combat right now in Libya and we recently extended our mission in Afghanistan once again,” said Staples.
Both Barrie and Staples say it’s about time for politicians to move on from all the scandals and start addressing the needs of Canadians in this campaign.
