Seeing double.
OC Transpo could see an annual savings of about $10-million per year with British-style double decker buses.
That’s because 66 double deckers can seat the same amount as 158 of the city’s low-floor buses set for retirement within the next three years.
The transit commission will be asked to approve the plan to buy 75 new double deckers at a cost of nearly $82-million next Wednesday.
The goal is to have them on the roads by 2012.
