Bail granted for accused killer in Jamaica

An Ontario teacher accused of trying to kill his wife while vacationing in Jamaica was granted bail yesterday.

Paul Martin, a 43-year-old teacher from Ajax, must remain on the island until his trial, which is scheduled to begin on June 15.

Martin was charged with attempted murder after Cathy Lee Martin was found at the side of a road with her throat slashed just before Christmas.

Martin’s lawyer says he was released on $500,000 bail and will be staying in a Montego Bay residence.
