Advanced polling stations open for Easter weekend

Canadians may be visiting the ballot box before tucking in to Easter dinner this weekend as the controversial advanced polls for the election will be open starting today.
And for those lounging on the couch looking for something new on the tube, the Liberals may have what you’re looking for.
It might not qualify as “must see TV” but the Grits plan on taking a leap of faith in their leader and their message as the party has bought 30 minutes of air time on Global, City TV and Radio Canada to broadcast their message of “strengthening families” in Canada.
Media consultant Allan Bonner calls it unprecedented in Canada.
“I don’t recall a Canadian leader buying a half an hour of time on two networks nationally, before,” said Bonner. “It may have happened but I don’t recall it and I think that this is a new strategy and that it’s worth a try.”
The 30-minute spot is called Michael Ignatieff’s Town Hall for Canada.
Meanwhile, Canadians can mix in some ballots with their Easter dinner as the advanced polls open today, tomorrow and Easter Monday from 12 p.m. until 8 p.m.
You will need proper identification, either photo or two pieces of authorized ID such as a health card and your hydro bill.
Alternately, you can have someone vouch for you.
