Police say missing girl’s remains found months ago

Police have shared details about the mysterious discovery of the body of a little girl who went missing 12 years ago.
Montreal police say Jolene Riendeau’s cadaver was actually found last year _ about seven months before they announced the discovery.
They say they found the body under a bridge on the southern tip of Montreal.
The 10-year-old girl went missing near her family home in April 1999.
Police say they waited so long to publicly disclose their discovery for strategic reasons, as part of their investigation strategy.
The case is now being treated as a homicide and, several days ago, a suspect was arrested, questioned and released.
