Arrests made after three purse snatchings

DELTA (NEWS1130) – A woman in her 80s was attacked in North Delta on Friday night and her purse was stolen. And that was one of three purse snatchings in Metro Vancouver over the weekend.
The woman was hit in the face several times and is in the hospital with serious injuries. It happened in an apartment building near 80 Ave. and 119 St.
She’s going to live, but Sharlene Brooks with Delta Police says she’s pretty shaken up. The elderly woman has been offered victim services.
A 43-year-old North Delta man was arrested Saturday.
Meanwhile, there were two attempted purse snatchings on the Downtown Eastside.
In the first, a woman fought off her attacker and in the second several people grabbed the suspect and held him until officers showed up.
A 38-year-old Vancouver man was arrested and charged with two counts of robbery.
