Search for missing BC man called off

For now at least, authorities in Nevada have called off the search for a 59-year-old Penticton, B-C man missing there for almost two months.
Police in Elko County say the hunt for Albert Chretien may not resume until snow melts or there’s new information about his possible location.
Chretien and his 56-year-old wife Rita got lost on a backcountry road in late March while trying to take a shortcut on a trip to Las Vegas.
After their van got stuck, Chretien set out on foot to get help and disappeared.
His wife was rescued after 47 days, having survived on little more than trail mix, candy and melted snow.
She has since returned to Penticton and was released from hospital last weekend.
Searchers on the ground and in the air had been scouring the route Albert Chretien may have taken to seek help, but have not found any trace of him.
