Mayor wants your Stanley Cup wager ideas

VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – The Mayor of Vancouver wants you to propose a suitable wager against the Mayor of Boston in the run up to the Stanley Cup series.  And so far there have been a lot of ideas.

Mayor Gregor Robertson is looking forward to adding to his Stanley Cup wager collection after getting a ham courtesy of Nashville’s Mayor after the Canucks won the second round.

Right now, he’s busy sifting through dozens of suggestions.  “There’s a good one, sushi versus clam chowder and swapping our best beers from two great beer drinking cities.  One that I really like and I’m going to campaign for with the Mayor of Boston is that the loser buys season tickets for a couple of inner-city kids in the winning city.”

Robertson explains that ideas have been exchanged but nothing has been set in stone.  “The winner gets to shave the loser’s head to wearing a bear suit for a day.  [And maybe] swimming with an Orca versus wrestling with a bear.”

People are encouraged to submit their ideas to the City of Vancouver before Game 1 on Wednesday.

The City is also looking to set up more outdoor TV screens for fans, but exactly where they’ll be situated has yet to be determined.

Game 1 goes at Rogers Arena at 5 p.m.
