Landsdowne redevelopment will not include art gallery

The constantly changing redevelopment of Landsdowne Park will not include the Ottawa Art Gallery.
City manager Kent Kirkpatrick has told the gallery’s board of directors the proposal is off the table. The gallery has been shopping for a higher profile site for some time. The head of the board tells the Citizen the present gallery in the Rideau Centre is an embarrassment, due to it’s small size.
Even though Ottawa is the fourth largest city in Canada, our gallery is the smallest of any municipality.
