Local schools closed after storm knocks out power

Several schools are without power after a thunderstorm rolled across the region yesterday, which means a day off for students.
The schools affected are Maynard Public School in Prescott, Centennial 67 Public School, Thousand Islands Elementary School, Front of Young Public School, Toniata Public School, and Sweets Corners Public School.
Ron Cotnam with The Upper Canada District School board tells 1310News they hope to have power restored Friday, but there’s no guarantee.
