Canucks fans confident for Game 7 win

VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – Well before the first period ended while the Vancouver Canucks were down 4-0, fans filed out of many of the live sites throughout the Lower Mainland.
But despite yet another loss on the road, Canucks fans are feeling good about Game 7. They think the team will bounce back and win the Stanley Cup on Wednesday.
“I really thought Vancouver would win. I really did. It’s OK, we’ve got Game 7! We’re going to stick through. We’re camping over in that parking lot so we’ll stay for another game,” said one woman.
“Oh well, I was expecting a Game 7 anyway. We’re here for it. It’s going to be awesome,” said another fan.
Some even think having the Cup in our home arena will bring the club good luck. While others prefer the Canucks win in Vancouver.
One fan even thinks there’s a conspiracy theory to push the series to seven games. “Let them, that way there is no damage or riots in Boston, then they [Canucks] come back here and the economy wins. [And] that’s because everyone is going to buy t-shirts and drink beer. It makes sense.”
It was a Game 6 of ups and downs for everyone and as one fan put it, “How could this happen again?”
Our own Mike Lloyd is out with fans worn down and rubbed raw by two months of playoff hockey.
It all comes down tomorrow, the stomach linings are thin and the playoff beards thick, and for some fans it’s so tense it is hardly fun anymore.
One man tells us, “It’s really going on too long and people are really really tired of this. They’re so so scared to even watch. There are so many people already so much stressed out.”
He says it is tough to watch when you’re so stressed, you want to throw up.
Game 7 goes Wednesday at Rogers Arena. The puck drops 5 p.m.
