Angry Canada Post employees in Ottawa protest lock-out

Canada Post letter carriers in the capital were angry, Wednesday, because they said the lock out was the Crown Corporation’s way to get the government to force them back to work without the collective bargain their looking for.
Dozens of protestors gathered outside Canada Post’s main sorting point on Industrial Avenue, near Alta Vista. Some were in full uniform, others were carrying signs and flags and blowing whistles.
The President of the local union, Godwin Smith, said he knew they would eventually get shut out.
“[…] We believe that this was the plan all along and they never wanted to have a collective agreement with us.”
He added there is still plenty of mail to deliver and the union is ready and waiting to deliver it.
Although the group on Industrial was loud, they did not disrupt traffic.
