It’s payback time, and that’s a good thing for the McGuinty Liberals. Unionized high school teachers in Ottawa who have been on the receiving end of several generous contracts from the Liberal Government will be reaching out to help re-elect Dalton McGuinty in the upcoming provincial election.
A document written by a local Ontario Secondary School Teachers’ Federation executive said they’ll be volunteering their time for the effort.
In the eight years under the Liberal mandate, high school teacher salaries in Ottawa have gone up almost 25 per cent putting a teacher with 10 years of classroom time under their belt at close to a $95,000 salary in the 2011-12 school year.
