Police hunt attempted carjacking suspects

Ottawa police are looking for three suspects following an attempted car jacking and armed robbery this morning. Police say two people were sitting in a car in a parking lot on Merivale Road near Sportsmart around four this morning when they were approached by three suspects.

One was armed with a pistol and hit the male victim over the head. The suspects jumped into the car but were unable to drive off in it. They then fled on foot.

Police describe the suspects as black men with slim builds, 16 to 20 years of age, all between 5’8 and 6 feet tall. One wore a grey mask over his face.

Anyone with information is asked to call police.
