Hot, hot, hot in the Capital

A heat wave continues to scorch Southern Ontario from Windsor to the Ottawa Valley.

Environment Canada has issued a humidex advisory for most of the province from Windsor through to Ottawa, Gatineau and the Valley.

Upper Gatineau is under a high heat and humidity warning and also a thunderstorm watch.

Health officials say if you know anyone at risk from heat-related illnesses, such as an elderly relative or friend, it would be a good idea to check on them.

Environment Canada forecast temperatures of 34c or more in the region and that could be record breaking for The National Capital.  The current record set back in 1953 of 34.4.
