Severe Thunderstorm Watch in effect for Ottawa and area

Environment Canada has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Watch for Ottawa, Gatineau, Kanata, Orleans, Richmond, Metcalfe, Prescott, Russell, Barry’s Bay, Renfrew, Petawawa, Pembroke and Cobden.
The weather service says there is potential for severe thunderstorms this afternoon.
This while the entire region remains under a heat warning and a humidex advisory.
