Even though Ottawa fell short of setting an all time record for the hottest day, Thursday, temperature records were set in 20 cities across Ontario and Quebec, including Windsor, the Toronto suburb of Markham and Montreal.
Here in the capital, temperatures surpassed 36 C, Thursday, 46 with the humidex. The record was set back in 1936 when temperatures reached 40.6 C on July 8, 9 and 10.
Meantime, the mercury dipped significantly Friday across both provinces.
That relief though will most likely not last too long.
