Canada’s Korean War Vets Honoured

Canada’s Korean War veterans gathered downtown on Sunday and were honoured for their service and sacrifice. This year marks the 58th anniversary of the end of the Korean War.
The veterans placed wreaths on the National War Memorial and had a moment of silence for their fallen comrades.
Before the ceremony they gathered together at the Monument to Canadian Fallen to remember soldiers who died during the Korean War.
Many veterans said the day is about remembering their fellow soldiers who did not make it back home from the war.
“I come over here to commemorate all my comrades that never came back with us. It’s for comradery. This unit here, we’re very much together,”said John.
The ceremony was followed by a reception at the Chateau Laurier where the veterans got a chance to catch up.
