Two planes collide above Alaska

Authorities say two small airplanes have collided above Alaska.

They say one plane landed safely after the accident, but the other crashed to the ground, killing at least two people on board. It happened Saturday afternoon near Trapper Creek.

A Federal Aviation Administration official says the plane that landed safely was a single-engine Cessna and the one that crashed  burned a Cessna 180.  The state medical examiner’s office was en route to the site to determine the exact number of people on board the downed aircraft.
