Lambert takes interview complaints to Twitter

Country singer Miranda Lambert has taken her frustration over a recent interview with a freelance reporter in Ottawa to Twitter.

Last week she wrote, “Dear Mr. Writer at the Ottawa Citizen.  Next time you interview me let’s keep it about the music and not about your view on my stance on guns.  I don’t talk politics period.  I’m not sure all Canadians would like to be put in your category, speak for yourself, not your country.”

The tweet has now been picked up by several country websites and came as a serious surprise for Patrick Langston, the man who conducted the interview.

Langston says he thought the interview was very friendly.

“We talked mostly about her music and her development as an artist,” he said.

Langston says at no time did he push his views on guns and despite all the controversy he would still like to meet Lambert at the upcoming Capital Hoedown.

“I think she’s a superb songwriter,” he said.
