City investigating OCTranspo driver

City officials are investigating a claim that a bus driver added a new stop to his route and this one was definitely not on the schedule.

The city says it received a complaint from a woman alleging an OC Transpo driver parked his empty bus while on duty in Kanata, entered a nearby LCBO, and emerged with a bottle of alcohol.

She says the driver didn’t pop open the bottle.  Drivers aren’t allowed to bring alcohol onto buses, and anyone caught breaking the rule could face disciplinary measures.

OC Transpo policy doesn’t stop drivers from leaving their bus, but says they need a “reasonable rationale” if they do.
