Ontario Shell stations running low on gas

Some Shell stations in southern Ontario have running low on gas, or in some cases, run out.
A Shell Canada spokesman said maintenance work at the company’s Sarnia refinery took a week longer than expected.
That triggered a shortage that hit Shell stations in the London area and as far east as the Toronto region.
Jeff Gabert said Shell also had trouble buying gas from fuel markets in Ontario and the northeast United States.
He said an upgrade and closure at two other refineries may also be contributing to the shortage.
Gabert said refinery maintenance delays aren’t unheard of, but the tight supply in fuel markets is unusual.
